Title: 10-19-19 Clark's Grade from 7 Oaks to Big Bear
Post by: Mojave Dirtball on October 19, 2019, 03:28:21 PM
What a great day!  Many thanks to Wendy and her friend and Rex for joining me on one of my favorite local trails.  The scenery and views along this trail are spectacular.  The weather was perfect and we got the bonus of seeing some Fall colors near the top of the mountain.

We met at Café 247 in Lucerne Valley for a quick breakfast and then we jumped on highway 18 and went up the mountain, past Baldwin Lake, over Onyx Summit and down highway 38 to 7 Oaks to the trail head.  The trail was a bit more rutted and rocky than the last time I ran it but it is still quite passable for a stock Jeep.  Some sections are a bit tight for a full size rig and we did meet some downhill traffic in some tight places which required some careful maneuvering to pass.

Anyone looking for a great local trail needs to add this one to their list.
