For those who are wondering, the donations of water for Trona at Ridgecrest PD was sent out to Trona on Saturday. Also, Pepsi donated a truck load to Trona as well.
As of now there is no reason to mobilize. It was the first day that everything was in a state of kaos. By Friday afternoon the resources started to come in. Trona at first was left in the dark, It sits in the corner of San Bernardino County all by itself. Ridgecrest was seeing all the action, this finally changed. A large simi-truck from SB County was dispatched to Trona with water and work crews are doing inspections and some minor repairs. Trona only has one store and it is closed as of now.
Thank You for those that responded to my post. I have a family member who is working this incident and was keeping me informed. It was during the first 24 hours that the communities needed assistance. That is when the call for mutual aid went out. It was due to the holiday that police and fire where short handed, but they managed. Thank God we have communities in the desert that are so willing to help. Trona still needs help as they do not have a cooling station. Hopefully they will get power restored by Sunday???
This might be a good thing for our group to work on. Putting a team together for such emergencies, to mobilize if an event like this occurs in our community. I'm learning it is the first 24 hours are the most critical.
