Thanks to everyone who turned out to make this a fun day. We met at 8:30 on Bowen Ranch Road where we aired down and had our driver’s meeting. We hit the trail around 9:00am. We had a total of eight rigs ranging from the old (CJ and YJ) to the new (diesel powered Gladiator).  We had one guest all the way from Florida (he is in town for few months and we hope he joins us again).  We headed up the hill on Juniper Flats Road then took the side trail up to the flagpole where we enjoyed the nice weather, great view and good conversations.

We then made a stop at the Rattlesnake Quarry and ended our day at The Desert Oasis, affectionately known as Little Tahiti. The new off-roaders did a great job!  Again, thanks for a great day.

Future Trail Rides & Events / Beginner / Newbie Run Saturday August 21st

This is the perfect run if you are new to the sport of four-wheelin’ or have a new 4X4 you want to shake down a bit. We will be enjoying the trails and views in the Juniper Flats area. This is not for all wheel drive vehicles but if you have a street legal 4X4 with a low range transfer case come join us for a fun day on the trails. We will encounter some mildly rocky sections. Meet at the intersection of Ocotillo Way and Bowen Ranch Road in Apple Valley at 8:30am.  We will have a driver’s meeting, air down and then hit the trail.  Bring water and lunch.

Future Trail Rides & Events / White Mountain Trail Saturday, August 28th

This is a moderately difficult trail (Forest Service rates it Black Diamond "most difficult") with several loose rocky steep hill climbs.  We rate it as a 2+ to 3 out of 5 depending upon current conditions.  A stock 4X4 with low range transfer case is OK with a skilled driver but not really recommended.  A mild suspension lift and one locking differential is recommended.

This is an all day event.

Meet at the McDonald's next to The Home Depot at the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Apple Valley Road in Apple Valley at 8:00am.  This run offers great desert and mountain views along with sufficient challenges to keep it interesting!

Come join in the fun.
